Border guards eliminate Russian assault unit in battle for Bakhmut
Members of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine eliminated a Russian assault unit in the battle for the town of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.
"A dozen soldiers of the aggressor state tried to check the strength of the defensive positions of one of our border units. The border guards detected the approach of the invaders in advance and were ready to meet them. The fire from our mortars stunned the invaders and they lay down to save themselves. Border guards, under the cover of shelling, suddenly came up to the enemy and eliminated most of the attackers," the State Border Guard Service reports.
The rest of the enemy soldiers fled, having received injuries of varying degrees of severity. It was established that the attempted assault cost the Russian invaders a rifle division: six of their soldiers were killed and four were wounded.
As of January 25, the Russian Federation has already lost about 123,080 soldiers in the full-scale war waged against Ukraine.
