Paratroopers repel enemy assault on several positions near Marinka
Paratroopers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade repelled the assault of the Russian army on several positions near Marinka, Donetsk region, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
"The enemy infantry, with forces up to a company, tried to imperceptibly approach the paratroopers’ positions to assault them. The insidiousness of the enemy's plan was that they continuously attacked other units of the brigade, actively using artillery in those areas," the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
In the same section, the enemy assault squad tried to approach "quietly" without the artillery fire. "However, the aerial reconnaissance of the Mykolaiv paratroopers detected the enemy's movement in time and fired at them, intensively dropping munitions from drones. As a result, the enemy suffered losses on the approaches to our front edge," the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
The Russians fled under the cover of a smoke screen, leaving the fallen on the battlefield.
As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near 10 settlements on January 29.
