Johnson calls on US to supply Ukraine with planes, tanks, long-range artillery

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on the United States to provide Ukraine with all the weapons it requests, including fighter jets, tanks and long-range artillery.

He said this at the Atlantic Council in Washington, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Give them long-range artillery systems, give them tanks, planes, because they have a plan. They know what they need to do," Johnson said.

He called on the United States to provide Ukraine with everything it needs to regain control of the "land bridge" along the Sea of Azov coast, which is currently being used by Putin's forces.

"If they can take back Melitopol and Berdiansk and Mariupol, get back those areas, it's game over for Putin," Johnson said.

U.S. President Joe Biden said earlier that the United States was not ready to meet Ukraine's request for U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets.
