Ukraine needs Western weapons needed for defense, de-occupation of territory - Podolyak
Ukraine does not launch strikes on Russian territory, but uses the weapons provided by its partners for the defense and de-occupation of its regions and the destruction of enemy depots.
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"About basic things for our partners once again. Ukraine doesn't strike at RF's territory. Weapons provided by allies are used for defense, de-occupying Ukrainian territories & destroying enemy depots," he wrote.
Podolyak added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need longer-range missiles and attack aircraft for an effective counter-offensive.
Earlier reports said that the German government had issued licenses to the country's defense companies to export up to 178 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. How many of these tanks will actually be delivered to Ukraine depends on the necessary repair work.
