National Guard members down enemy Mi-24 near Bakhmut

The crew of a portable anti-aircraft missile system of Ukraine’s National Guard operational brigade downed a Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter on the outskirts of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

This is said in a report published on the website of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"On February 7, at 14:12, on the eastern outskirts of Bakhmut, the National Guard service members detected two enemy Mi-24 helicopters, one target was captured and destroyed by an anti-aircraft gunner, an Igla-1 MANPADS was used,” said the commander of air defense service of the third operational brigade.

It is noted that this aircraft was used to inflict fire damage on Ukrainian units and to provide air cover for the advancing enemy infantry. The fate of the pilot of the downed aircraft is unknown.

This is the third Russian helicopter downed by units of the National Guard's 3rd operational brigade since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion.

As reported, on February 7, members of the State Border Guard Service downed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft over Bakhmut in Donetsk region.
