Near the Donetsk region’s Bakhmut, Ukrainian border guards have eliminated four Russian assault groups, totaling 40 troops.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

On the outskirts of Bakhmut, Russian invaders are making continuous attempts to use detached house suburbs in order to conceal movement or take shelter.

“Recently, four enemy infantry groups, consisting of 10 militants each, have been trying to sneak up in order to assault the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. This maneuver was detected by the air reconnaissance units of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, and mortar gunners eliminated two enemy infantry groups. The rest of invaders retreated,” the report states.

Russians attempted to hide between detached houses in order to regroup and launch a new attack.

But, the ‘aerial eyes’ of Ukrainian defenders disrupted enemy plans. The mortar gunners of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service and the artillerymen of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed the remaining Russian assault groups.
