Russian military losses currently largest since invasion started – intelligence
The losses of the Russian occupation forces are now the largest since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24. As before, access to the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains a priority for the Russian Federation.
"The situation at the front. Now we see an enormous escalation and serious developments in the east, of course, around Bakhmut, other directions, Vuhledar. Actually, nothing has changed, there are those desperate attempts to occupy the Ukrainian Donbas by the end of March. Such were Putin's instructions to Gerasimov [chief of the Russian General Staff]. Those dates don't mean anything, they won't succeed, Ukrainian Donbas is holding on, and Bakhmut is holding on," Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said during the nationwide news telethon.
He added that the situation in Donetsk region is currently a priority for the enemy despite the colossal manpower and equipment losses.
"The enemy losses are the largest since the beginning of this shameful war, and this can be seen with the naked eye," Yusov noted.
He did not rule out a possible intensification of enemy forces in other areas of the front.
Yusov also noted that the propaganda of the aggressor state is currently preparing the Russian population for a new wave of mobilization. In particular, propaganda claims that so-called special military operation is conducted according to plan.
As reported, according to information received by the special services of some Western countries, Russia is building up combat aircraft and helicopters near the border with Ukraine preparing for a massive offensive.
