Kadyrov plans to create own PMC

Chechnya leader and Vladimir Putin ally Ramzan Kadyrov says he intends to found a private military company by analogy with Wagner Group once he quits civil service.

That’s according to Kadyrov’s posting on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Without a doubt, such military formations are needed and necessary. That is why I am seriously planning to compete with our dear brother Yevgeny Prigozhin after completing my work with the civil service, and create a private military company. I believe everything will work out," Kadyrov said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, in some assault units that are part of the notorious Wagner Group, losses amount to 80% of personnel.

It should be recalled that Kadyrov announced in September of last year that it was time for him to leave his post "before he is kicked out". He has been President of Chechnya since 2007, and before that, for two years he was acting president, head of the Republic’s government.

The United States and Ukraine have recognized Wagner Group a translational criminal organization.
