Next Ramstein format meeting may take place in mid-March — Reznikov

The next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group may take place in mid-March, and it will probably be held online.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said this at a briefing on Monday, February 20, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The next date [for the meeting], if I'm not mistaken, is mid-March. But there's a high probability that it will be held online. I think that the first anniversary of Ramstein [format meetings], which began in April last year, will probably be held at the Ramstein military airbase. And in March, I think, I will be able to join from Kyiv," he said.

When asked when he learned that U.S. President Joe Biden would come to Kyiv, Reznikov said. "Recently."

"All this was really kept in a rather closed mode, so it also came as a surprise for many of us. I was packing my bags for Poland, to be honest," he added.

Biden made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Monday, February 20. This is his first visit to Ukraine as U.S. president.
