Ukrainian paratroopers repel enemy attacks near Marinka, destroy two IFVs
The enemy lost manpower and two infantry fighting vehicles during the attack near Marinka.
"The paratroopers of the 79th Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled enemy attacks near Marinka. So, the other day, the enemy launched a night assault on the positions of the maroon berets [paratroopers] from Mykolaiv. A convoy of four units of equipment, consisting of a tank and three IFVs, unexpectedly started moving rapidly toward the front edge of the Ukrainian defense forces in the middle of the night. With such actions, the enemy tried to catch the Mykolaiv paratroopers by surprise. However, intelligence detected the enemy in time and the fighters took the fight," the Command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
It is noted that an enemy BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle drove over a landmine and could no longer continue moving. Our fighters later shot it with a grenade launcher.
When another infantry fighting vehicle approached it to evacuate the landing party, it was destroyed by a well-aimed shot from the Javelin anti-tank system. After the ammunition detonated, a turret came off.
Having lost two units of equipment and the landing party, the enemy retreated.
