Ukraine didn’t break - U.S. Ambassador on anniversary of Russian invasion

The bravery and determination of Ukrainians in defending their land from Russian aggression inspired and united the world in support of the fight for Ukraine's freedom.

This was stated by the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, who posted on social media a video address on the anniversary of Russian invasion, Ukrinform reports.

Brink noted that a year ago on this day, Russia decided to try to alter the borders of Europe by force, and throughout this year they have tried in every possible way to break the will and spirit of the Ukrainian people.

"Ukraine did not break... Your bravery and determination have inspired the world and united us behind your fight for freedom... Over the course of the last year, you have liberated over 70,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian land, freeing Ukrainian villages, towns, and cities from the torture, death, and destruction that Russia’s forces brought with them and left in their way. Russia failed to anticipate your resilience and our resolve to help you prevail... I am so proud of our support for your existential fight for survival and our collective fight on the front lines of freedom," the U.S. ambassador said.
