Nine enemy UAVs shot down over Kyiv at night
On the night of February 27, air defense forces shot down nine enemy drones of the Shahed type in the sky over Kyiv city.
According to Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, "9 UAVs were shot down in the sky over Kyiv. According to preliminary assessment, the enemy used Shahed barrage ammunition. The drone attack was actually carried out in two waves, and it was extended as much as possible in time. Thus, the enemy tried to realize their tactical goal - to exhaust our air defenses. Therefore, the last night air alert in Kyiv lasted for five and a half hours.”
According to preliminary information, there were no civilian casualties or damage to infrastructure objects.
As Ukrinform reported, three explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi during an air raid alert. From 23:00 on Sunday until the early hours of Monday, Russian occupiers used 14 UAVs of the Shahed type over the territory of Ukraine. According to the preliminary information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "11 of these drones were shot down by Ukrainian defenders."
