Five Russian cruise missile carriers with 32 Kalibrs on standby off Crimea coast
Russian invaders deployed 15 warships in the Black Sea, including five missile carriers with a total salvo of 32 missiles.
That’s according to Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint press center at Operational Command South, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
Humeniuk emphasized that among these missile carriers there are also submarines, adding that it is complicated for Ukraine to ensure timely detection of their missile launches.
According to the spokesperson, such a large number of enemy missile carriers has not been recorded in the Black Sea for a long time.
In addition, she noted that the intensified activity of Russia’s Air Force is also being observed.
Humeniuk recalled that the Russians are looking for new shelling tactics, so it is not necessary that any massive missile strikes will be launched - pinpoint strikes or those in several waves are also possible. The general threat of a missile strike is assessed as high.
She added that currently, the sea weather is typical for this season, with 3-4 point moderate storms that are not critical for launching missiles.
As reported, around midnight on Wednesday, March 1, an air raid alert went off in a number of regions. Air defenses were activated in Poltava region.
