Latest air raid alert due to drone, not air balloon as reported earlier - Kyiv authorities

The latest air raid alert announced in Kyiv around noon on Wednesday was due to a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle, not an air balloon as preliminary reports claimed earlier.

That’s according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

"Clarification: The cause of the latest air raid alert in Kyiv was an enemy UAV, not a balloon, as previously reported," the statement reads.

It was possible to identify the object after its debris was studied after it was downed.

Earlier, the Kyiv City Military Administration said the air raid alert on Wednesday was announced due to a small air balloon spotted in the sky near the city.
