Ukraine’s border guards repel another Russian assault near Bakhmut

In Donetsk region, units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine prevented yet another attempt by Russian troops to storm their positions near Bakhmut.

This was reported by the agency’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy infantry was unable to pass through the zone of permanent fire damage. The aggressor state’s manpower losses are being further verified," the reports reads.

It is noted that Russian artillery has been actively shelling border guards’ strongholds across Donetsk region. A Russian air strike was also reported along the line of contact.

Meanwhile, in Luhansk region, border guards employed mortars to contain enemy mortar fire.

"The enemy set up positions by the forest strip, firing at Ukrainian positions. Due to effective spotting by our aerial reconnaissance, the target was destroyed," the report says.

Along with the enemy mortar, four of its operators were also eliminated.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, fighters with Ukraine’s Airborne Assault Forces destroyed a unit of Russian invaders in one of the critical battlefield areas. Most of the aggressors killed in action turned out to have carried gear seized from Ukrainian forces.
