1,398 children already killed and injured by Russian aggression in Ukraine
As of the morning of March 10, 464 children were killed and 934 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation.
"As of the morning of March 10, 2023, more than 1,398 children were killed and injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 464 children were killed and more than 934 children received injuries of varying severity," the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.
As noted, these numbers are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of hostilities, temporarily captured and liberated territories.
Most children were killed and injured in Donetsk region – 446, Kharkiv region – 273, Kyiv region – 123, Kherson region – 94, Zaporizhzhia region – 87, Mykolaiv region – 83, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 66, Dnipropetrovsk region – 66.
On March 8, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were injured in the enemy shelling of civilian infrastructure in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region.
On March 9, a 13-year-old boy was injured in a Russian attack on the village of Veletenske, Kherson region.
As a result of massive bombing and shelling over the past year, 3,126 educational institutions were damaged by the Russian armed forces, 438 of them were completely destroyed.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the mechanism of forced evacuation of children from the areas of active military operations.
