Ukraine border guards repel four Russian assaults in Bakhmut

Border guard units deployed in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, repelled four Russian attacks on Sunday, eliminating five invaders and wounding nine.

That’s according to the State Border Guard Service press office, Ukrinform reports.

"Last day, our border guards repelled four enemy assaults," the statement reads.

It is noted that the Wagner Group units intended to approach the strongholds unnoticed and break through Ukraine’s defense line.

"However, instead, they were confronted with massive fire on the part of our defenders. The invaders scattered across the ruins: five of them won’t ever be able to run anywhere again, while another nine were wounded," the report reads.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, fierce firefights are underway near Bakhmut, where the Russians are suffering huge losses.
