Ukraine creates online constructor to rebuild rural houses
The team of Balbek Bureau presented RE:Ukraine Villages, an online constructor for rebuilding damaged and destroyed houses. Its goal is to preserve the established organic image of Ukrainian villages and prevent it from being "erased" by typical construction.
The Balbek Bureau posted this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“RE:Ukraine Villages online constructor was designed to restore houses damaged or destroyed by the war, but it will also be useful for those who want to build rural housing from scratch and are looking for a ready-made solution. The project started with an expedition to the villages of the de-occupied Kyiv region – this area was the first in our research series,” the post reads.
Using the RE:Ukraine Villages constructor, you will receive ready-made instructions for rebuilding your home: a pdf file with isometry, plans, drawings, facade scans, and a technical description. The plan also contains recommendations for materials needed for the finish.
“The constructor offers design elements typical for the selected area, with basic and decorative options available. We will then gradually expand our geography with different regions of Ukraine affected by the war,” Balbek Bureau summarized.
As reported, as of February 2023, the total amount of damage caused to Ukraine's infrastructure due to Russia's full-scale invasion increased by another $6 billion to $143.8 billion (at replacement cost).
