Zelensky meets with German tank manufacturer’s delegation

President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the delegation of Germany’s Rheinmetall AG defense concern, led by CEO Armin Papperger, to discuss the issue of current cooperation and its further deepening.

The head of state announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The current state of our cooperation and prospects for its development were discussed in detail. It is necessary to further deepen the partnership in order to meet both the urgent needs of the defense forces of Ukraine and to significantly strengthen the defense capabilities of our country in the future," Zelensky said.

The president thanked Germany's leading defense company, as well as the entire German nation, for their comprehensive assistance and support to Ukraine.

"We appreciate this important help in our struggle for freedom and democratic values," Zelensky emphasized.

As reported earlier, Rheinmetall stated that the company is negotiating with Kyiv on the supply of state-of-the-art tanks and that they do not rule out the possibility of creating a plant for their production in Ukraine.
