Zelensky honors memory of Bucha residents killed by Russians
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky honored the memory of Bucha residents killed by the Russian invaders during the temporary occupation of this town, which is located in Kyiv region.
According to the president’s press service, the ceremony took place near the Church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called and All Saints in Bucha.
The ceremony was attended by: President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, as well as Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak.
The attendees put icon lamps at the memorial cross at the burial site of Bucha civilians killed by the Russian invaders.
During the ceremony, the names of 77 identified persons who were buried in a mass grave near the church, as well as 11 servicemen killed in battles for Bucha, were announced.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian invaders committed more than 9,000 war crimes in Bucha district, Kyiv region.
