Russian troops conducting offensive action in four areas – Ukraine's General Staff

Russian troops are concentrating their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka areas.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a situation update as of 18:00 on April 1.

"Throughout the day, the enemy launched two missile strikes, 25 air strikes and mounted six attacks using multiple launch rocket systems," the report reads.

The General Staff said that not having the desired results on the battlefield, the enemy is continuing to cynically wage war against peaceful citizens.

On Saturday, April 1, Russia again launched missile attacks on civilian objects in Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, and other towns and villages in Ukraine, using ballistic missiles. Civilians were injured.

The probability of further missile and air strikes on targets across Ukraine remains high.

"The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive action in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka areas. Throughout the day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled more than 50 enemy attacks. The battles for the areas of the settlements of Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka remain the fiercest," the General Staff said.

The Russian invaders continue the forced passportization of the population of the temporarily captured territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. In particular, in the city of Tokmak, at checkpoints, the invaders are restricting the movement of Ukrainian citizens who have not received passports of the Russian Federation.

"The occupiers are purposefully and intentionally searching vehicles, without further opportunity to enter the city. Citizens of Ukraine who don't have a Russian passport are threatened with a ban on entering the city. In turn, representatives of the FSB, during raids on homes, threaten local citizens of Ukraine without a Russian passport with job loss and problems with employment," the report reads.

The General Staff also said that the Ukrainian Air Force launched eight strikes on enemy concentration areas on April 1, whereas Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery struck three enemy personnel and equipment concentration areas and two enemy ammunition depots.

Ukraine's General Staff reported earlier that between February 24, 2022 and April 1, 2023, Ukrainian forces killed about 173,990 Russian invaders, with 630 soldiers eliminated in the past day alone.
