Ukraine, U.S. top generals discuss situation on front lines
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi and U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley have discussed future steps by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the further liberation of territory from the Russian invaders.
Zaluzhnyi said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, according to Ukrinform.
"I had a meaningful telephone conversation with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley. I spoke about the situation on the front line. The situation is difficult, but under control," he said.
Both parties paid special attention to the supply of weapons and ammunition and emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukrainian air defenses.
Zaluzhnyi thanked Milley for his consistent support of Ukraine. The two agreed to actively interact in the future.
