Ukrainian military complete NATO CIMIC training course – General Staff
The Ukrainian military have completed the NATO CIMIC Field/Staff Worker International Course of NATO CIMIC Centre of Excellence (CCOE).
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Over the course of two weeks, the participants improved their skills in the field of civil-military cooperation, namely in the area of: planning civil-military cooperation activities, assessing the civil environment, conducting negotiations, coordinating the humanitarian aid, as well as establishing effective civil-military interaction with non-military actors,” the report states.
The training course was hosted by the Military Training Centre for Foreign Operations (MTCFO) in Poland’s Kielce. Training exercises were conducted by military instructors and representatives of international organizations, including from Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Poland, Canada and the USA.
CIMIC officers from the Czech Republic, Spain, Ukraine and Poland took part in the training. The purpose of the training was to prepare officers of civil-military cooperation to perform tasks as assigned, within the framework of international peacekeeping and military operations, as well as exchange the experience of participants from different countries.
“The Ukrainian military briefed the CIMIC international community representatives on the current security situation in the country, the main challenges in repelling the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and the acquired experience of the CIMIC units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the General Staff added.
All participants successfully confirmed the high level of training and received the appropriate certificates of the NATO CIMIC Field/Staff Workers.
