Destruction in Sumy region as Russians continue shelling border areas

On April 5, the Russian forces 17 times shelled the communities in Sumy region close to the border.

This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to Sumy Regional Military Administration.

"We recorded 229 hits – these were missiles, MLRS, mortars, artillery, and AGS. Unfortunately, there’s destruction," the statement reads.

According to the administration, in Krasnopillia community, where ATGM, artillery, and MLRS fire was recorded, the commercial premises of one of the local enterprises were damaged in one of the villages.

"Khotyn community: three residential buildings and a household gas main were damaged as a result of mortar shelling (six strikes). Hlukhiv community: artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation (three hits), and then another one (eight hits). As a result of the latest shelling, a household and non-residential premises were damaged," the statement adds.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, de-occupied territories within the borders of Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions are subjected to constant shelling from Russian territory. In March, the enemy shelled these areas more than 300 times, and in  the first days of April, 70 such attacks were recorded.
