War update: Ukraine Air Force strikes Russian positions 17 times on Wed
Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered 17 strikes on Russian manpower and weapons clusters.
That’s according to a morning update by the General Staff, Ukrinform reports.
"Our defenders destroyed a Russian Ka-52 helicopter and two Orlan and Supercam UAVs. Rocket and artillery units hit two enemy control points, three ammunition depots, three positions of anti-aircraft defense systems, and four e-warfare stations," the military says.
The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on an offensive in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions. More than 60 enemy attacks were repelled in the past day, with Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka remaining at the epicenter of hostilities.
The enemy launched three missile strikes and 29 air strikes, also firing 51 MLRS salvos.
Further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remain highly likely.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the situation has undergone no significant changes as no signs of the enemy offensive groupings being formed were spotted.
The Russian Federation continues to use Belarusian airspace and military infrastructure.
The enemy shelled the settlements of Turia, Leonivka, and Pechenyuha in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Stukalivka, Bezsalivka, and Volfyne in Sumy region; as well as Odnorobivka, Udy, Chervona Zoria, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Lyptsi, Neskuchne, Ohirtseve, Zybine, and Bochkove in Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk axis, the settlements of Topoli, Fiholivka, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Kupiansk, Kucherivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestove of Kharkiv region and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka of Luhansk region came under enemy fire.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched unsuccessful offensive efforts in the Nevske and Serebryansky Forestry areas. Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Terny, Zarichne, Torske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy is trying to take full control of the town, continuing to storm it. Also, the enemy undertook unsuccessful offensive efforts in the area of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske. Defense forces repelled nearly 20 enemy attacks on the said section of the front. More than 15 settlements were subjected to enemy shelling, including Vasiukivka, Mynkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Novodmytrivka, Bila Hora, Kleban-Bik, Toretsk, and Shumy of Donetsk region.
On the Avdiivka and Marynka axes, the enemy was on an offensive in the Novokalynove, Avdiivka, and Marynka districts of Donetsk region – with no success. They launched over 25 foiled attacks near Maryinka alone. At the same time, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Netaylove, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Pobieda also came under enemy fire.
The Russians had no offensive attempts in the Shakhtarske direction. Unmanned aerial vehicles were actively employed to spot artillery fire that affected the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is building up defensive lines, fortifying positions. The Russians opened fire at over 35 settlements. Among them are Vremivka and Novopil of Donetsk region; Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Hulyaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novopavlivka, and Kamianske in Zaporizhia region, as well as Novooleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Novoberyslav, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Lvove, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Stepanivka, and Chornobayivka in Kherson region.
The enemy forces continue to use the medical facilities of the temporarily captured territories for their own purposes. The local clinic of Mala Bilozerka, Zaporizhia region, was converted into a military hospital. Currently, Russian military doctors operate in the civilian medical facility. They provide their services exclusively to Russian military personnel. As of April 2, about 80 WIAs were undergoing treatment in the facility.
