Ukrainian intel comments on leaks: Most successful Russian operations take place in Photoshop

Ukraine has to wait for the results of the Pentagon’s investigation into the alleged leakage of secret documents about Ukraine’s counteroffensive. However, it is worth noting that, in recent decades, the most successful operations of the Russian special services have been taking place in Photoshop.

The relevant statement was made by Andrii Yusov, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Since there is information that the Pentagon is conducting an investigation, we need to hear from the Pentagon about this investigation. It is very important to remember that, in recent decades, the most successful special operations of the Russian special services have been taking place, actually, in Photoshop,” Yusov told.

In his words, the preliminary analysis of these materials shows the distorted figures regarding losses from both sides. Some data were clearly collected from open sources. As for the needs of the Ukrainian Army, this issue has been discussed a lot and meaningfully at all levels.

“It is no secret that Ukraine did put and continues to put questions about aircraft, tanks, ammunition, and many other things that we need to liberate the occupied areas faster, to preserve the lives of the Ukrainian military and civilians,” Yusov noted.

According to Yusov, Ukrainian society definitely should not worry about this situation.

“The counteroffensive will take place, and the enemy will really see and feel the main plans on the battlefield,” Yusov stressed.

He mentioned that a decision on the counteroffensive will be made by the Ukrainian military leadership, and the circle of people who are informed about the offensive plans is as limited as possible.

Commenting on Russia’s possible reasons to make the document public, even if it had been stolen by the Russian special services, Yusov assumed that this information could be completely fabricated.

“Today, any means and tools are used to slow down or disrupt Ukraine’s counteroffensive and the liberation of Ukrainian territories, to slow down or disrupt the aid from the international pro-Ukrainian coalition to Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, and, of course, Russia remains a powerful player with considerable financial resources  that can use and conduct various campaigns, PSYOP, which may be very expensive at times,” Yusov explained.

In his opinion, in order to disrupt aid to Ukraine, Russia may raise the stakes, namely blackmail and threaten with the deployment of nukes in Belarus, while spreading lies that all the weapons provided to Ukraine get stolen and end up in black markets.

Anyways, according to Yusov, the public will soon know the answers to the questions and the latest information about the secret documents.
