Russian aggression kills 468 children in Ukraine
As a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression, 468 children were killed and 947 more were injured in Ukraine.
“As of the morning of April 9, 2023, more than 1,415 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 468 children were killed and more than 947 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office wrote on Telegram.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 449, Kharkiv region - 275, Kyiv region - 127, Kherson region - 94, Zaporizhzhia region – 89, Mykolaiv region - 85, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 66, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 66.
On Sunday, April 9, the Russians launched a missile attack on Zaporizhzhia. A missile hit a private residential building, destroying it and killing an 11-year-old girl.
On Saturday, April 8, a 15-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
As reported by Ukrinform, 31 Ukrainian children deported by the Russians were returned to Ukraine on April 8.
