In occupied settlements, invaders stripping libraries of Ukrainian books

The Russians continue to destroy everything that’s Ukrainian on temporarily seized lands, including Ukrainian literature.

This was reported by the Center for National Resistance, Ukrinform saw.

"In the best traditions of the Nazis, the enemy is trying to destroy the population’s consciousness in the temporarily occupied lands. Now, 9,500 Ukrainian books were snatched form libraries on the captured lands of Donetsk region. The list of ‘extremist literature’ includes books by Volodymyr Vyatrovich, Vakhtang Kipiani, Oksana Zabuzhko, and the Kapranov brothers," the report reads.

As noted, the list of books to be withdrawn is formed by "school faculties," which is yet another crime for which perpetrators will be held accountable.

In Luhansk region, books are taken to the captured Avangard Stadium in the regional center. Instead, the Russians bring their own "literature" to the occupied areas. In March alone, 80,000 books in Russian were imported to Luhansk region.

The CNR recalls that earlier, in Rovenki, Luhansk region, cases were recorded where Ukrainian books were burned en masse in local boiler houses.
