Canada announces new military aid for Ukraine

Canada will send tens of thousands of small arms and several million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this at a press conference in Toronto on Tuesday, April 11.

According to him, 21,000 assault rifles, 38 machine guns and over 2.4 million rounds of ammunition will be sent to Ukraine from the warehouses of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Moreover, Canada announced the expansion of sanctions against Russia, adding 14 individuals and 34 legal entities to the sanctions list. Canada is also imposing sanctions on nine entities linked to the Belarusian financial sector.

Shmyhal is on a one-day visit to Canada on April 11. He has already held talks with Trudeau, Minister of National Defense Anita Anand, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.
