Ukrainian defense forces repelled 34 Russian attacks in four directions
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have repelled 34 attacks by Russian forces in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions in the past day.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12.
Despite significant losses in equipment and manpower, the Russian army is still focusing its efforts on conducting offensive operations in these areas.
Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out six attacks on the areas where the enemy's personnel and military equipment were concentrated, and also shot down an Orlan-10 drone.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's missile forces and artillery hit four areas of concentration of enemy manpower, weapons, and military equipment, an ammunition depot, and a Russian radar station.
The Russian forces carried out 19 air strikes and more than 10 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of the Defense Forces and the infrastructure of settlements, resulting in civilian casualties.
The General Staff warns that the likelihood of enemy missile and air strikes remains high throughout Ukraine.
The operational situation in Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Slobozhanshchyna sectors has not changed significantly, and some units of the territorial troops of the Russian Armed Forces continue to be on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The inspection of the combat readiness of the Belarusian Armed Forces continues comprehensively, with some formations and units brought to the highest levels of combat readiness. The units involved in the inspection are manned by conscripted reserve servicemen.
Russia continues to maintain certain units in the districts of Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine and equip the area with engineering equipment.
Hostile attacks occurred in various areas, including Halahanivka, Zaliznyi Mist, and Arkhypivka in Chernihiv region; Mefodivka, Bilopillia, Volfyne, Kindrativka, Varachyne, Basivka, and Zapsillia in Sumy region; Veterynarne, Vovchansk, Varvarivka, Zemlianky, Komisarove, and Kolodiazne in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyansk sector, Topoli, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Kindrashivka in Kharkiv region came under Russian fire.
In the Lyman sector, the invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Bilohorivka over the past day. Novoselivske, Nevske, Pishchane, Kuzmyne, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region came under enemy artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut sector, the Russians continue to conduct offensive actions, attempting to take full control of Bakhmut, and fierce fighting continues. Russian troops made unsuccessful offensive attempts in the area north of Khromove and near Bohdanivka. In this section of the frontline, the Defense Forces repelled about 18 enemy attacks.
Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba, and Zalizne in Donetsk region suffered from hostile shelling.
At the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, the Russian army conducted offensive actions in the areas of Maryinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, but was unsuccessful.
"The fiercest fighting in this area of the frontline is taking place near Maryinka, where 14 enemy attacks were repelled," noted the General Staff.
The Russians fired at Keramik, Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Netaylove, Nevelske, Karlivka, Heorhiivka, and Maryinka in Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive actions over the last day, but instead, they struck Novomykhailivka, Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka in Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the invaders are on the defensive. Specifically, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region, Kherson, Kachkarivka, Vesele, Antonivka, Inzhenerne, and Zelenivka in Kherson region came under enemy fire.
According to the General Staff, in the temporarily occupied territories, the Russian invaders continue to use educational institutions for their own purposes by setting up their military facilities there and using students and teaching staff as human shields.
Recent reports suggest that Russian troops from among the mobilized have arrived in Skadovsk, Kherson region, in the last few days. They have occupied the buildings of educational institutions, forcing teachers to continue the educational process with compulsory attendance of children.
At the same time, a humanitarian crisis is brewing in Skadovsk due to an increasing shortage of medicines. According to the General Staff, the Russian pseudo-authorities have significantly limited the supply of all types of medicines to pharmacies.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army has already lost approximately 180,050 personnel and thousands of pieces of military equipment in the full-scale war waged against Ukraine.
