Issuance of Russian passports intensified in Donetsk region
The Russian Federation continues to impose the so-called "passportization" on Ukrainian citizens. The efforts to accelerate the process in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region have become particularly active.
That’s according to a morning update delivered by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“In some settlements of the Kakhovka district in Kherson region, Russian occupiers are forcing people to re-register vehicles under Russian regulations, for which the owners need to have Russian passports” the statement reads.
In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region, migration officials work with no days off. Priority is given to civil servants and military personnel with the 1st army corps.
As reported, a former employee of the Migration Service was charged with treason (in absentia) for participating in the forced passportization of Ukrainians in Berdiansk, a town temporarily captured by the Russians in Zaporizhzhia region.
