Russians preparing to block ZNPP staff
The occupiers bring food and water to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), preparing to block the plant's staff after one of the work shifts.
"Taking into account the insane shortage of highly qualified nuclear engineers needed to operate the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, and fearing a Ukrainian offensive, the Russians are preparing to hold ZNPP staff captive for a long time," the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom” posted on Telegram.
The invaders have already brought a lot of food and water to the plant. Probably, the occupiers will not let the staff go after one of the regular work shifts, forcibly blocking them at the ZNPP.
It is also noted that the occupiers already carried out a similar "trick" at the beginning of the full-scale invasion when they closed the plant shift at the Chornobyl NPP. At that time, the invaders did not let the plant staff go home for about a month, holding people hostage until de-occupation.
As Ukrinform reported with reference to Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, the presence of Russian occupiers in the territory of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant – Zaporizhzhia NPP – poses a direct threat to the nuclear safety of all mankind.
