Ukrainian border guards receive handheld X-ray imagers from European partners
Ukrainian border guards received handheld X-ray imagers from European partners.
"Ukrainian border guards received Videray PX1 handheld X-ray imagers from European partners which will make life difficult for smugglers. It’s needless to say about the need for such equipment on the border. The device perfectly sees any hidden objects in personal belongings, cars, and even in buildings. Therefore, it will no longer be possible to hide prohibited items or a person," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
As noted, the imagers are completely safe for health. After all, exposure to radiation during medical fluoroscopy is equal to three years of daily work with a new imager.
In April, Ukrainian border guards received more than a hundred generators and other property as part of the cooperation between the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine which will ensure the continuous functioning of the system for countering radiation hazards on the state border and in border areas.
