Russian armed aggression affects over 1,418 children in Ukraine

A total of 470 children have been killed and over 948 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of April 17, 2023, over 1,418 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 470 children were killed and over 948 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (451), Kharkiv region (275), Kyiv region (127), Kherson region (94), Zaporizhzhia region (89), Mykolaiv region (86), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (66) and Dnipropetrovsk region (66).

On April 16, 2023, a 17-year-old boy was killed in Russia’s shelling of the Mykolaiv region’s Bashtanka district.
