Russians shell five communities in Sumy region

Today, April 17, the Russian army shelled five communities in border areas of Sumy region, including Velyka Pysarivka, Bilopillia, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, and Hlukhiv communities.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy fired artillery at Shalyhyne community, 18 hits were recorded. The Russians dropped nine mines on Velyka Pysarivka community.

The enemy was shelling Bilopillia community almost all day: using a mortar (24 hits were recorded), barrel artillery (6 hits), and an AGS automatic grenade launcher (20 hits).

The Russians shelled Seredyna-Buda community with barrel artillery - 27 hits were recorded.

In Hlukhiv community, Russian used barrel artillery - eight hits were recorded.

According to the military, no formation of hostile offensive groups near the state border has been detected.

It is noted that Ukrainian forces continue to perform tasks at designated defense lines along the state border.

As reported by Ukrinform, on April 15, a Russian airstrike damaged a boarding school in Sumy region, more than a hundred people were evacuated.
