Russia cancels annual march of "Immortal Regiment" on Victory Day
This year, Russia will not host the traditional "Immortal Regiment" procession, which was held annually on May 9.
This was reported by the TASS news channel, Ukrinform reports.
The co-chair of the central headquarters of the All-Russian public movement "Immortal Regiment of Russia", State Duma deputy Elena Tsunayeva noted that instead of the canceled procession, everyone is invited to post photos of their relatives-veterans on social networks, on their clothes, on their cars and on the website of the Movement.
Tsunayeva added that the situation with the Immortal Regiment march abroad will become clear closer to Victory Day, as the organizers are currently applying for the event.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian cities of Kursk and Belgorod have already canceled parades on Victory Day on May 9 for security reasons.
