Air Force doesn’t deal with celestial bodies - AFU Air Force spokesman
Even Belarus saw yesterday's flash in the sky over Kyiv, but it was not near the ground, so no wreckage can be found.
Yurii Ihnat, a spokesman for the Air Force Command, said this on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
“This flash was seen even in Belarus. It was not near the ground to find the wreckage. I think that special services will deal with this, although the body could have burnt up in the atmosphere," Ignat said.
He noted that Ukrainian air defense did not work in this direction yesterday. The air force was focused on the Shahed drones. "While we were working there, everyone in Kyiv saw an unusual phenomenon. What was it? Probably a meteor entering the atmosphere. We can't say for sure. Because the Air Force does not deal with celestial bodies. The Air Defense Forces are engaged in repelling Russian aggression," Ihnat said.
He noted that the alarm was raised because there is a war going on and something exploded in the sky. "It was an emergency for everyone. That's why there was an alarm. To find out," he added.
As reported by Ukrinform, a bright flash of an aerial object was observed in the sky over Kyiv at about 22:00 on April 19.
Today, the Main Center for Special Control said that the day before, at 21:57 Kyiv time, the space body probably entered the dense layers of the atmosphere.
