Eight out of 10 Shahed-136 drones destroyed by Ukraine’s air defense last night

On the night of April 21, 2023, Russia used 10 Shahed-136 drones to attack the territory of Ukraine. Eight of them were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Last night the enemy used about 10 Shahed-136 drones, and eight of them were destroyed by our defenders,” the report states.

According to the General Staff, information is yet to be updated.

Additionally, Russian troops opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 49 times, targeting the positions of Ukrainian forces and peaceful settlements. Casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to detached houses and other civil infrastructure objects.

A reminder that, on the night of April 21, 2023, air raid sirens were ringing out across Ukraine. The threat of enemy drone attacks was announced in the Kyiv region, and later anti-aircraft defense systems were reported to have been activated.
