As a result of the night attack by Russian troops in Mykolaiv, about 40 buildings were damaged, 22 were multi-storey buildings.

The Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"A lot of residential buildings have been damaged in various ways. Preliminarily, 22 apartment buildings, four housing estates, and 12 private houses. Windows and doors were blown out, balconies were destroyed, and roofs were damaged," the mayor said.

Several educational institutions and the district administration building were also damaged.

According to the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, more than 700 windows were broken during the night shelling. A five-story building and private sector houses were affected the most: only a huge crater remained on the territory of one of them.

Kim told on the United News telethon that the nighttime Russian missile attack caused panic among Mykolaiv residents, especially those who had recently returned to the city.

"It was an unusual attack. We have not had any shelling since December 31. So it was like snow on our heads. This Russian attack caused a slight panic among Mykolaiv residents, especially those who recently returned to the city. During the period of massive shelling, we had a little over 200,000 people, and now we have over 400,000. Many people are not used to this," Kim said.

According to him, many children have recently appeared in the city, and people have begun to get used to a peaceful life.

"The strike hit civilian infrastructure and residential buildings where there are no military facilities, it's just plain terror," Kim summarized.
