Ukrainian PM, Italian Minister of Defense discuss strengthening military assistance to Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Italy Guido Crosetto discussed strengthening military and technical assistance to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports. 

According to Shmyhal, they also discussed cooperation in the defense sector and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"We appreciate Italy's support for Ukraine on its way to NATO. The Ukrainian army, with the support of its allies, is already implementing the best standards of the Alliance and proving in practice the superiority of these standards in the war against Russia," Shmyhal said.

He expressed gratitude for the six packages of military and technical assistance. "We are interested in strengthening cooperation with Italy as one of our key allies in the defense sector," Shmyhal emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, Shmyhal and Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, discussed the peace formula proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
