Ukraine's defense forces repel 65 Russian assaults along front line
In the past day, the Russians launched 65 assaults on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka axes, all of which were repelled by Ukraine's defense forces.
That's according to the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.
“Today, Russian terrorists launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine. Reports on the aftermath are currently being clarified,” the military says. "Over the last 24 hours, the enemy carried out eight missile strikes and 31 air strikes, also launching 56 MLRS volleys, on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Civilians were affected, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed," the report reads.
The likelihood of further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on continuing offensive operations on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka axes. In the past day, the Russians launched 65 assaults on the specified areas of the frontline, all of which were repelled.
Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities, where Ukraine’s forces are on the defensive.
Volyn and Polissia axes: the operational situation has undergone no significant changes. There were no signs any offensive groupings being formed.
Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: during the past day, the enemy carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Seredyna-Buda and Chernatske, as well as mortar and artillery shelling of Hremyach – in Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Ukrainyske, Baranivka, Bachivsk, Kucherivka, Volfine, Oleksiivka, and Myropyllya in Sumy Oblast, as well as Basove, Bugaivka, Kozacha Lopan, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Vilkhuvatka, Bolohivka, Dvorichanske, and Kolodyazne in Kharkiv region.
Kupiansk axis: the enemy launched no offensive missions, actively flying unmanned aerial vehicles to spot artillery fire. Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Lyman Pershyi, Doroshivka, and Berestov in Kharkiv region; and Novoselivske in Luhansk Oblast got under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
Lyman axis: the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Dibrova and Serebryansk forestry. Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka of Luhansk Oblast; and Terny, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne of Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
Bakhmut axis: the enemy pursues offensive operations. Fighting continues in the town of Bakhmut. The enemy undertook offensive efforts toward Bohdanivka, with no gains. Vasyukivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Khromovka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanovske, Predtechine, Kostyantynivka, Severnye, Pivdenne, Nelipivka, and New York of Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
Avdiivka axis: the enemy was on the offensive in the areas of Avdiivka, Severna, and Pervomaiske settlements of Donetsk region – with no success. The Russians shelled Novokalynove, Stepove, Berdychi, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Severne, Vodiane, and Pervomaiske of Donetsk region.
Maryinka axis: during the past day, Ukraine’s defenders repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Marinka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Paraskoviivka, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
Shakhtarske axis: the enemy ran no offensive operations, delivering airstrikes on Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka, shelling the settlements of Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrayinka, Zolota Nyva, Prechystivka, and Vuhledar in Donetsk region.
Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the enemy is on the defensive. In the meantime, the Russians shelled populated areas along the line of contact, including Vilne Pole, Novopil’ of Donetsk region; Olhivske, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Novoandriyivka and Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia region; Kherson and Beryslav, Kherson region. Also overnight Friday, the enemy launched a missile attack on Mykolaiv.
The invaders continue to suffer losses, including non-combat ones. On April 24, nearly 20 invaders died in one of the units located in the Melitopol district of Zaporizhia region as a result of poisoning.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force seven times struck enemy clusters and engaged a Russian anti-aircraft missile system.
At the same time, Ukraine’s defenders shot down six enemy UAVs of various types.
Ukraine’s artillery forces hit two russian control points, a manpower cluster, an anti-aircraft defense system, an ammunition depot, and two artillery units.
