Zelensky presents state awards to 419 defenders, including 105 posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelensky has presented state awards to 419 defenders of Ukraine, including 105 posthumously.

The relevant decrees, No.243/2023, 244/2023, 245/2023, 246/2023, 247/2023 of April 28, were published on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.

The awards were presented for personal courage shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty.

The President awarded the defenders with the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Danylo Halytskyi, "For Courage" orders, as well as the medals "For military service to Ukraine", "For impeccable service" and "Defender of the Fatherland.”

By Decree No. 245/2023, the President awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal and the "For Labor and Victory" medals to six academic staff of Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv University of Air Force.

By Decree No.246/2023, the President posthumously awarded the order “For Courage” to Tseng Sheng-guang (Jonathan Tseng), a Taiwanese volunteer solider who died while defending Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, on April 28, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar conveyed the words of gratitude from President Volodymyr Zelensky to the 95th Brigade of Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
