Photographs from occupied Mariupol: Ruins, dirt and alienation
The recent photographs from the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol once again confirm that there is chaos in the city seized by Russians.
The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Andriushchenko, these pictures were taken by his friend, who had been evacuating her parents from Mariupol recently.
“It’s about the fact that someone says the city is coming to life... Everywhere there is dirt, destruction, and the locals have only confusion and alienation on their faces. There are Tajiks and newcomers everywhere, high food prices,” Andriushchenko cited his friend.
Additionally, Andriushchenko’s friend had talked to local residents and, in her words, there are not so many of those showing support for the ‘Russian world’ among them.
A reminder that over 90% of the housing stock in the Donetsk region’s Mariupol was destroyed by Russian attacks.
