Ukraine repels over 30 Russian attacks on four axes

On Monday, Ukraine’s defense forces repelled more than 30 Russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka areas.

That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

The invaders continue to focus their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the mentioned zones.

"Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities, where our soldiers bravely defend," the General Staff said.

Ukraine’s Air Force delivered a total of four strikes on Russian manpower clusters. Artillery units  hit a Russian control post, two clusters, two ammunition depots, and a fuel depot.

The Russians, in turn, carried out a total of 19 missile strikes and 13 air strikes, as well as 13 attacks involving MLR systems.

As a result of Russian strikes, civilians, including children, were killed and wounded. High-rise residential buildings, private residential houses, schools, hospitals, kindergartens and other civilian infrastructure facilities were either destroyed or damaged by enemy fire.

The General Staff emphasizes that the likelihood of further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

No signs of any enemy offensive groups being formed were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

Russia continues to maintain a certain number of troops in the areas bordering Ukraine in the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions.

During the day, Russian troops attacked Lyzunivka, Chernihiv region, with guided aerial bombs, resulting in the death of a child. Leonivka, Krasnyi Khutir, Hremyach, and Novhorod-Siverskyi of Chernihiv region, Seredyna-Buda, Shostka, Khodyne, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne, and Sadky of Sumy region, as well as Udy, Hoptivka, Strelecha and Khatne of Kharkiv region suffered from enemy mortar and artillery strikes.

In the Kupiansk direction, the invaders ran no offensive operations. Instead, they fired artillery and mortars at Fiholivka, Zapadne, Lyman Pershyi, Kislivka, Kupiansk, Krokhmalne, and Berestove in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman axis, Russian troops tried to improve their tactical position, conducting unsuccessful offensive operations in the Novoselyvskyi and Bilohorivsky districts.

The enemy attacked Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Spirne using aviation, and struck Makiivka, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Verkhnokamyansk and Spirne in Donetsk region, employing artillery.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians continue their offensive. Fighting in the town of Bakhmut is underway. In the direction of Predtechyne, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive operations, also launching an air strike on Bakhmut and Bila Hora.

Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Kostyantynivka, Diliivka, and Pivdenne of Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian troops ran offensive efforts in the Pervomaiske area of Donetsk region, with no gains. At the same time, the invaders shelled Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in Donetsk region. An airstrike also targeted Avdiivka.

In the Marinka direction, the Russian army continues to attack the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Battles continue for Maryinka. Heorhiivka, Donetsk region, also came under enemy fire.

During the day, the Russians carried out no offensive operations in the direction of Shakhtarske, instead shelling Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, and Novoukrayinka in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy remains on the defensive, shelling populated areas.

Vremivka, Novosilka, and Novopil of Donetsk region, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, and Zeleny Hai of Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Kherson, Ivanivske, Kozatske, Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, and Vesele, were hit by Russian strikes. Odradokamyanka, Tyahinka, Bilozerka, and Kizomys of Kherson region were also affected.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, overnight Monday, May 1, the Russian army once again launched a missile attack on Ukraine, using strategic aircraft for this purpose. In total, the invaders launched 18 Kh-101/Kh-555 air cruise missiles, of which 15 were shot down.
