Russian armed aggression affects over 1,439 children in Ukraine

A total of 478 children have been killed and over 961 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of May 3, 2023, over 1,439 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 478 children were killed and over 961 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (453), Kharkiv region (275), Kyiv region (128), Kherson region (94), Zaporizhzhia region (89), Mykolaiv region (89), Chernihiv region (70), Dnipropetrovsk region (67), and Luhansk region (66).

On May 2, 2023, a 17-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Kherson region’s village of Urozhaine.
