Russian strikes civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia

On Wednesday night, Russian troops attacked the civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.

The Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Yuriy Malashko said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"At night, the enemy struck twice at civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. Specialists immediately began to liquidate the consequences and provide all necessary assistance to the victims," Malashko said.

The city council added that civilian houses in one of the city's private sectors were targeted by enemy missiles. As a result of the attack, one house was completely destroyed, two were heavily damaged, and about 40 more had their windows smashed and roofs damaged.

Air raid alarms were sounded several times in the city. Residents of different districts heard explosions. 

The Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Yuriy Malashko said that the enemy fired 82 times at the communities of Zaporizhzhia region over the past day.

"The enemy made 82 attacks on peaceful settlements: 2 missile attacks, three air attacks, 4 UAV attacks and 69 artillery shells," the statement said.

Novoiakovlivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole and 13 other villages were shelled.

According to the State Emergency Service, on May 2, at about 16:05, the Russian army launched an air strike on Huliaipole. Russian attack damaged three residential buildings and the roof of a secondary school. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

As Ukrinform reported, on the night of May 3, the Russian aggressor once again attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. The defense forces destroyed 21 of 26 Russian Shahed-136/131 attack drones.
