Tasheva: 26 Crimean political prisoners are in critical health condition

Twenty-six Crimean political prisoners are currently in critical health condition.

The Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva told this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"According to the Crimean Solidarity, 26 Crimean political prisoners are currently in critical condition. Amet Suleymanov has serious health problems. He has a bad heart, and he was even left under house arrest while the trial was going on. The illegal verdict of the Russian-controlled 'court' against Amet - staying in a strict regime colony - means that the political prisoner may not survive," Tasheva said.

According to Tasheva, 62-year-old Servet Gaziyev, who was sentenced to 13 years in prison, also needs medical care. She drew attention to the fact that civilian journalist Irina Danilovich has chronic otitis: she is losing her hearing and can hardly hear anything.

"Leviza Dzhelialova says that the constant stay in the special block of the Simferopol Detention Center, where you can't even see the sky, also negatively affects the health of her husband Nariman Dzhelial. He has problems with his eyesight, and it only worsens as a result of being in a dark room," the Permanent Representative of the President noted.

She emphasized that the situation with medical care in Russian prisons is terrible.

"Everyone is talking about it, including Russian lawyers who are trying to carry out at least some human rights activities within the limits they can. Russians are killing political prisoners in their prisons. They are provided with basic medical care only after a public resonance," Tamila Tasheva added.

As reported, Crimean political prisoners Dzhemil Gafarov and Konstantin Shiring died in Russian prisons.
