After a video by journalist Yanina Sokolova about the terrible conditions of the soldiers' rehabilitation in the Cherkasy region, the dilapidated building was urgently cleaned of mountains of household waste.

Iryna Ternova, head of the Zolotonosha District State Administration of the Cherkasy region, told Ukrinform in a commentary.

"The facility is currently undergoing a general cleaning," she said.

According to Ternova, the authorities are in touch with the institution and are constantly helping the military.

She also calls the plot one-sided, a hype intended to provoke the audience's emotions.

"The owner suggested this location himself. There was no light there, so we fixed it. We cleaned it up. There is no heating, but it was not provided for from the very beginning. We do and help with everything the military asks for. I believe that the publication is just hype because they filmed only the part that has been uninhabited since Soviet times. The reporting is completely one-sided," said Iryna Ternova.

She also emphasized that this private institution is constantly visited by the military, but this is the first time such a situation has occurred. So far, no one has complained.

The day before, journalist Yanina Sokolova released a video showing the terrible living conditions of the military in the Cherkasy region: soldiers sleep on the floor, in mud and garbage without basic living conditions.

The video was sent to her by soldiers of the Third Luhansk Border Guard Detachment. They told her that after a three-month stay in Bakhmut, they were sent to the Cherkasy region for three months of rehabilitation. Some of them are wounded. The video shows the building in a dilapidated state, with peeling walls and piles of garbage inside.

According to the military, which the journalist quotes, after her appeals, they urgently brought cots to the institution and began cleaning.

The Luhansk Border Guard Detachment is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Sokolova addressed her inquiry to the ministry and the detachment's commandant. When she asked why the soldiers on rotation were in inhumane conditions, he advised her to request the press service and then hung up on her.

The press service of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration also refused to comment on the scandalous video.
