Ukraine’s Air Force conducts 10 strikes on Russian manpower clusters May 5

The Ukrainian Air Force 10 times struck the enemy manpower and equipment clusters over the past day.

That’s according to a morning update delivered by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

"Last day, the enemy launched eight missile strikes, 49 air strikes, and carried out 82 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems. A number of civilians were injured, private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were either destroyed or damaged," the statement reads.

Further missile and air strikes are likely to be launched targeting the entire territory of Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus their main efforts on offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions where nearly 50 assault efforts were repulsed. Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities, where Ukraine’s defenders are holding their ground.

"Ukraine’s Air Force conducted 10 strikes on enemy manpower and equipment clusters. Five enemy unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed-136/131 type, two UAVs of the Zala type, an Orlan-10, a Kub, and a Lancet drone were shot down," military said.

In addition, Ukraine’s rocket and artillery forces hit five clusters, three ammo and fuel depots, an air defense system, and five more important enemy targets.

On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has undergone no significant changes.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes, the enemy conductd airstrikes targeting Ivanivka, Leonivka, and Buchky in Chernihiv region, and Znob-Trubchevska in Sumy region. The settlements of Stara Huta, Baranivka, Tovstodubove, Bachivsk, Khodyne, and Volfyne of Sumy region came under mortar and artillery shelling, as did Chervona Zoria, Udy, Veterynarne, Hraniv, Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Hlyboke, Lukyantsi, Neskuchne, and Starytsia in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Bolohivka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Lyman Pershyi, Pishchane, and Stelmakhivka of Kharkiv region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

The enemy conducted no offensive operations in the Lyman direction. Makiivka in Luhansk region and Nevske, Yampolivka, Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne in Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues the offensive. Fighting is going on in the town of Bakhmut. The occupiers attacked in the direction of Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, and New York, with no gains. Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kostyantynivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivdenne, Toretsk, Severne, and New York of Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy launched offensive operations in the Avdiivka area, without success. They opened fire at Orlivka, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Karlivka, Netaylove, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, over the past day, Ukraine’s soldiers repelled attacks in the Marinka area. Kurakhove, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Yelizavetivka, Katerynivka, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region also came under enemy fire.

The enemy conducted no offensive operations in the Shakhtarske direction. Shakhtarske, Prechystivka, and Vuhledar in Donetsk region were affected by Russian shelling.

The enemy is on the defense in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. More than 40 settlements were shelled. Among them are Burlatske, Vremivka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, and Novopil of Donetsk region; Olhivske, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Hulyaipilske, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and Stepnohirsk of Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Vesele, Dniprovske, and Kizomys of Kherson region, and the city of Kherson.

Occupiers in the city of Starobilsk evict Ukrainian citizens who refused to obtain a Russian passport. Usually, they warn local residents twice before throwning people out into the street. Occupants are not deterred when families have children. After eviction, such citizens are sent to filtration points while their homes serve as accommodation for Russian soldiers.

As reported, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have already eliminated 193,210 Russian invaders since February 24, 2022.
