Commander Syrskyi presents awards to infantry soldiers holding back Russian invaders at front

Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi has visited the military units and subdivisions that are holding back Russian invaders at the front line.

The relevant statement was made by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Syrskyi presented state awards to the best infantry soldiers and congratulated the Ukrainian military on their professional holiday.

“The infantry are the core of our army! The enemy’s positions are not considered captured until our infantry soldiers take them,” Syrskyi said.

The commander talked with the servicemen, considered the problematic issues of the units, and provided recommendations on enhancing the defense capability of Ukrainian forces at the front.

A reminder that Ukraine marks Infantry Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 6.
